In class we spoke about the situation in Taranto: Ilva, a steelmaking company, is causing a lot of pollution, which is leading to a lot of cancer-related deaths.
The government first promised to give immunity to the new owners, but now they won't do it.
If the plant gets closed, pollution will decrease, but thousands of people will become unemployed; on the other side, if it doesn't get closed, people will have a job, but pollution will increase.
